INSECTA-KILL

INTRODUCTION:

For many years there have been steadily increasing concerns over the state of the environment.  These concerns have prompted many environmentally conscious individuals and groups to seek out “earth smart” low impact, or reduced hazard remedies to problems faced on a planetary scale.  An example, the Fire Ant, with its blistering sting, is just one more enemy in the century-old battle between man and the insects.  All too often the victims of this war are crops, wildlife, livestock, our pets, and our very homes.  Both sides have done their damage:  the insect with its painful bites and stings, as well as its insatiable hunger, and man with the chemicals he uses to combat his foe.
Nature provides her own answer.  INSECTA-KILL is highly effective in combating a wide variety of insects, while vastly reducing the impact on humans, pets, and other warm blooded creatures.  INSECTA-KILL is the future of insect management.
The primary ingredient of INSECTA-KILL is Diatomaceous Earth.  Diatomaceous Earth is composed of fossilized shells of tiny water dwelling organisms known as diatoms.  When Diatomaceous Earth is properly milled, it acts like razor-sharp daggers, piercing an insect’s exoskeleton (outside skeleton).  The Diatomaceous Earth powder attracts moisture, literally draining the life sustaining fluids from the insect, dehydrating and killing it.  Diatomaceous Earth is not a poison, but a mechanical killer which will kill almost any insect on contact.

APPLICATION:

This insecticide uses mechanical penetration and dessication instead of a chemical killing mechanism.  It can be applied wet or dry to make contact with the problem insects or present a barrier against insect instrusion.  Insecta-Kill is not water soluble but can be applied as a wettable powder which requires continued agitation during application to keep it in suspension.  A minimum of a one-to one ratio of water to Insecta-Kill is recommended but higher water content can be used up to a maximum of about one pound of Insecta-Kill to 25 gallons of water.  The recommended application rate for either wet or dry applications is one pound of Insecta-Kill per 1000 square feet of area.

INSECTA-KILL is classified as amorphous fresh water Diatomaceous Earth, with crystalline silica content ranging between 0.36% to 1.12% as determined by x-ray diffraction analysis.  The World Health Organization cautions that Diatomaceous Earth with a crystalline silica content of three percent or higher is dangerous to humans.
